More About Pelvic Therapy
Pelvic pain may be present alone or in combination with abdominal, hip, thigh, back, sacroiliac, buttock, rectal or vaginal pain. Some people also have urinary frequency, urinary leakage or pain with urination. Others have digestive pain or pain with bowel movements. Still others have pain with intercourse. These problems are more frequent than many think and when they are the result of muscular dysfunction are very receptive to physical therapy intervention.
| “I've had endometriosis for over 20 years, including debilitating pain and internal adhesions that made even breathing difficult. After two surgeries, by my early 30's, intimacy was all but impossible and — ahem — bodily functions became painful. I couldn't believe there was such a thing as pelvic floor physical therapy at first, but now I'm its biggest fan. Amy is so professional and relaxed that I almost forget why I used to be embarrassed" |
